Highway

A highway in the broadest sense of the term is any public or private road or other public way on land, including not just major roads but also other public roads and rights of way. In the United States, the term is used to describe major roads. It is sometimes used casually as a synonym of freeway, or expressway, denoting a controlled-access highway.
