Outing is the act of disclosing an LGBTQ person's sexual orientation or gender identity without their consent. Historical examples of outing include the Krupp affair, the Eulenburg affair, the Röhm scandal, George Michael's April 1998 arrest, Ricky Martin's 2000 interview with Barbara Walters, and the Larry Craig scandal.
